OUR INSTRUCTORS
Evie Gaffney has been a skater all her life. Evie has spent the greater part of her time on the ice as a performer and choreographer in the USA and Europe. her performing career culminated in a three year assignment with Shipstead and Johnson’s “ice follies” as a precision and comedy skater. the last twenty-five years she has devoted to teaching skating, the last thirteen-and-a -half years at the Thomas Creek Ice Arena.
Leanne Martin coached at TCIA for 6 years when the ice arena first opened. She is a USFSA International Dancer and has passed the Canadian Gold Dances, USFSA Gold Freedance, Intermediate Pairs, Freestyle, Moves in the Field and 6th Firgure. She is a 7 time Adult National Competitor. Leanne played defense for the Women's Ice Hockey team at RIT. She is a member of the USFSA and the Professional Skaters Association.
Catherine Varnum has been skating for more than 15 years and coaching the last 8. She has accomplished the highest possible level in Moves in the Field and Ice Dance. She's one of the most accomplished ice dancers in the area, having her United States and Canadian Gold Medal in Ice Dancing and all nine International Dances. When she's not on the ice, you can watch her telling the stories that matter most to our area on News 10NBC.
